The Journey (Chinese)
Only for Film Market of Focus on Asia IFF Fukuoka
When Bee returns to Malaysia, she introduces her conservative father, Uncle Chuan, to her British fiancé, Benji. While Chuan initially opposes the marriage, pointing to Benji’s lack of cultural understanding and comprehension of Chinese traditions, he reluctantly submits to their union, on the condition that their wedding adheres to Chinese traditions. Part of that tradition is for Chuan to invite all his childhood friends personally, leading to Benji and Chuan embarking on an adventure cross-country to deliver invitations together.
